SHARE HELP - Humanitarian Empowerment & Livelihood Program

HELP stands for Humanitarian Empowerment & Livelihood Program, a powerful initiative under ShareFunds that provides non-educational aid to underserved communities in Pakistan, India, and other regions in need. While ShareFunds supports schools and microfinance, HELP focuses on life’s immediate necessities—food, water, shelter, dignity, and self-sufficiency.

The Vision Behind SHARE HELP

From food distribution during Ramadan to digging wells in arid deserts, from supporting widows with sewing machines to funding marriage ceremonies for orphans, HELP represents a heartfelt commitment to serving humanity. These are the projects that touch lives at the most basic level and give communities the chance to recover, rebuild, and rise.

Ramadan Food Basket Distribution

Every year, as the holy month of Ramadan approaches, ShareFunds, through the HELP initiative, organizes a large-scale food basket distribution to assist vulnerable families in Pakistan and India. With inflation rising and food insecurity affecting millions, Ramadan becomes a time not just of fasting, but of immense struggle for low-income households.

Through this initiative, ShareFunds distributes essential food baskets to over 2,000 individuals annually, including widows, orphans, daily wage laborers, and internally displaced families. Each food basket is carefully designed to last a family of five for the entire month of Ramadan. It includes flour, rice, lentils, sugar, oil, tea, and dates, along with hygiene essentials.

This effort is carried out in close collaboration with local volunteers and community partners who identify the most deserving recipients. The food is sourced locally to support area farmers and small suppliers, and each package is hand-delivered with respect and dignity—often accompanied by a personal visit and prayer.

The impact is immediate and deeply emotional. For many families, these baskets mean the difference between hunger and hope. Children look forward to iftar without anxiety, and parents are relieved of the burden of choosing between food and medicine.

As one mother in Sindh shared, “My children broke their fast with a full plate of food, and we made dua for the people who gave it to us. We felt seen.”

Through HELP, ShareFunds transforms Ramadan into a time of compassion, unity, and shared humanity.

Water Relief in Arid Regions

In the sun-scorched plains of Tharparkar, Sindh, and other drought-stricken regions, access to clean drinking water is a daily battle. Women walk for miles to fill jugs from drying ponds, and children fall sick from contaminated sources. The situation is dire—but HELP is making a difference.

The Water Relief Project under HELP focuses on providing long-term, sustainable water solutions to these marginalized areas. This includes:
• Installation of deep water wells
• Provision of hand pumps and solar pumps
• Construction of underground storage tanks
• Training locals to maintain and monitor equipment

Each water source is strategically placed near villages and schools to ensure accessibility for women, children, and elders. The wells are engineered with durability and sustainability in mind, and community oversight committees are trained to manage usage and basic repairs.

Through this program, ShareFunds has already transformed the lives of hundreds of families who now enjoy access to clean water year-round. Villagers no longer have to choose between work and water collection, children stay healthier, and entire communities become more resilient to climate shocks.

Beyond immediate relief, this project empowers communities with a sense of ownership. By involving them in the planning and execution process, we ensure that each water solution becomes a symbol of dignity, not dependency.

As the village elder in Tharparkar said during a pump inauguration, “This is not just water. This is life.

Sewing Machines & Skills Training

One of the most empowering ways to uplift a family is to provide the means for economic independence. The Sewing Machine & Skills Program under HELP does exactly that.

Through this initiative, ShareFunds distributes sewing machines and toolkits to widows, single mothers, and young women from low-income households—along with free training in stitching, tailoring, and basic entrepreneurship. The program runs in both Pakistan and India, in collaboration with trusted local organizations and vocational instructors.

Participants are taught how to measure, cut, stitch, and design simple garments—often with culturally appropriate clothing like shalwar kameez, abayas, and school uniforms. They also receive training in how to market their services, manage customer orders, and calculate profit margins.

Upon completion, each graduate receives a sewing machine to start her home-based tailoring business. In many cases, these women begin earning income within two months, sewing school uniforms, wedding dresses, or local garments.

The impact is profound. For many, this becomes their first source of income. For others, it means financial stability after the loss of a husband or family breadwinner. In some cases, they go on to train others—creating ripple effects throughout their neighborhoods.

One recipient from Hyderabad shared, “With my machine, I bought my children school books for the first time on my own. It changed our lives.”

Through HELP, dignity is stitched into every seam.

Disaster Relief, House Repair & Reconstruction

When disaster strikes—whether through floods, fire, or structural collapse—low-income families are often left with nothing. In such moments, HELP steps in with rapid disaster response and long-term recovery support.

ShareFunds provides emergency supplies including tents, bedding, food rations, clean water, and hygiene kits. Once the immediate crisis subsides, we work with local partners and builders to repair damaged homes, rebuild essential rooms, and restore dignity to affected families.

In areas prone to seasonal flooding, ShareFunds funds elevated construction, waterproofing, and disaster-prepared housing designs. In urban slums, we support basic roof repairs, wall reconstruction, and safe flooring to reduce health risks.

Every project is conducted with transparency and community involvement. Beneficiaries are selected based on need, and each home repair is documented from start to finish. The program gives special priority to widows, orphans, disabled individuals, and families with young children.

These interventions not only shelter families from future disasters but restore their sense of safety and belonging. A home is more than bricks—it’s a sanctuary. And through HELP, ShareFunds ensures that no one is left in the rubble.

Marriage Ceremony Support

Marriage is a sacred and joyful event, but for many poor families, it becomes a financial burden they cannot bear. This is especially true for orphans and single-mother households, where traditional dowries, wedding clothes, and basic ceremony costs are unaffordable.

To restore dignity and fulfill the sunnah of marriage, HELP organizes and sponsors group marriage ceremonies, as well as individual weddings for those in need. These events are conducted with full respect, modesty, and cultural sensitivity. Families are provided with:
• Wedding clothes for the bride and groom
• Basic household items (e.g., bedding, utensils)
• Modest food arrangements for a limited number of guests
• Travel support and documentation, if needed

Every project is conducted with transparency and community involvement. Beneficiaries are selected based on need, and each home repair is documented from start to finish. The program gives special priority to widows, orphans, disabled individuals, and families with young children.
